Education Open House A Huge Success!

Education Open House A Huge Success! Photo by Rachel Hernandez A few weeks back, I wrote about an upcoming even at the universitys College of Education. I was also given the opportunity to run the Illinois Snapchat (uofillinois) for the event, so I got a firsthand experience. And today was the day! Overall, the event was geared toward prospective students and families, and it was a great success! The event began with a casual sign-in, where students and parents had the opportunity to converse with various faculty members. Then, they ate lunch with current students, faculty, and alumni. A series of informative presentations followed the lunch, and students were given the chance to ask current students questions, as well. Photo by Rachel Hernandez At 2:00, students were given the option of attending various different events for the next few hours. Personally, I attended an Education 101 lecture class. The prospective students gave incredible feedback and said that this was an extremely beneficial experience for them. At the end of the event, everyone regrouped for a casual QA with coffee and cookies (who doesnt love cookies?). Students, again, got to ask students and staff open-ended or specific questions. Overall, the event was practical, informative, and entertaining for all! If you still have questions or would like to learn more, go to education.illinois.edu.
